Locations: Calgary, AB | Scotford (Fort Saskatchewan), AB | Sarnia, ON
Duration: 4, 8, 12 or 16 months

Internship Start: January, May or September 2026

Technical Internship Programme: Engineering: Chemical, Chemical-Process Control, Electrical, Mechanical

Commercial Internship Programme: Commerce/Business, Computer Science, Mathematical Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Quantitative Finance

Responsibilities

As an intern, you’ll be immersed in Shell’s operations and culture, working on real projects that align with your academic background and interests. You’ll be based at one of our key Canadian locations—Calgary, Scotford, or Sarnia—and supported by a dedicated supervisor and mentor throughout your internship.

You’ll receive regular feedback and performance assessments to help you grow and determine if a future with Shell is right for you. Top-performing interns may be offered a return internship or a place in the Shell Graduate Programme, a comprehensive 3-year development journey designed to shape future leaders.

Job requirements

We are looking for a candidate who thrives on new challenges and embraces innovation. Eligibility

We are looking for ambitious students who are currently enrolled in a university Bachelor’s or Master’s program and meet the following criteria:   

  • At least one more semester of education remaining following your internship
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.20
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Shell
  • If you are selected for a role in a safety-sensitive position, you will be required to successfully complete a Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug tests
