Job description

In order to better equip the front office teams, and in the context of tremendous growth in our trading portfolios, we are developing a greenfield Risk & PnL engine within our CTRM (Commodity Trading & Risk Management system). We are seeking a strong problem solver, with an interest in technology proven by experience with a general programming language (ideally C++, Python).  

You will be the first member of this greenfield Risk & PnL engine team in Geneva, with the rest of the team being based in London. You will however be sitting with other CTRM teams you will collaborate with daily, in our technology hub in Geneva. Regular business trips to London will be required.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Problem-solve: Cross-system architectural, technical and functional challenges, between the greenfield Risk & PnL engine and other components of our CTRM landscape
  • Develop: Leverage core components of this new Risk & PnL engine, and other parts of the CTRM to develop technical solutions to these cross-system challenges.
  • Team-up: Across CTRM teams, and the business, to ensure high-performance and reliable operation of this new Risk & PnL engine, in the broader CTRM context.

As a Risk Strategist you will be at the crossroads of the development of this new Risk & PnL engine, facing both business priorities and technical challenges. You will face ambiguous problems requiring you to define not only the answer but also the question.

Job requirements

What you need to bring:

  • Excellent problem solving, strong sense of ownership and excellent communication skills (incl. full proficiency in English), demonstrated in recent experiences, be it professional or academic
  • Interest in technology proven by experience with a general programming language, ideally C++ or Python at enterprise-level.
  • Top-tier university degree (Bachelor or Master) in a technical field.

Qualifications that will help you stand out

  • PL SQL or C# experience.
  • Experience with derivative risk concepts including option pricing and Greek risk measures.
  • Energy markets experience.
  • Professional-level proficiency in French.
