Shell Energy Brasil is the company’s trading arm responsible for being the single customer and market interface for downstream power, gas, and environmental products activities in Brazil. This role reports to the Gas and Power Settlements Coordinator, within the Americas Trading & Supply organization.

As a Settlements Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of gas and power contract settlement processes, acting as a key link between commercial, operational, and regulatory teams. This role requires a strong focus on process automation, data analysis, and the ability to lead effective continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Order-to-Cash Execution: ensure all closed gas and power deals are registered in settlement tools and sent for billing or payment processing, guaranteeing their completion, accuracy, and compliance with contractual terms and company policies.
  • Billing and Payments Oversight: guarantee timely payments to suppliers and perform quality assurance on billing and payment activities, including those handled by third parties.
  • Customer and Counterparty Support: Serve as the primary contact for counterparties regarding ongoing contracts and settlements. Open and track claims and disputes, acting as Resolution Owner (RO) for settlement-related issues.
  • System Utilization: Maintain Settlements systems and tools, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning correctly. Assist in the implementation and testing of system upgrades and enhancements.
  • KPI Monitoring and Reporting: prepare and distribute regular reports on settlement activities, including status updates, performance metrics, root cause analysis, issue resolution and long-term improvements.
  • Regulatory Reporting: deliver accurate and timely regulatory reports under commercial support responsibility.
  • Commercial Support: Support and collaborate with the Commercial team in new contracts, deals, and projects, ensuring successful implementation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: work closely with teams in Tax, Legal, Finance, Treasury, Scheduling, and Commercial to ensure end-to-end settlement processes are aligned and efficient.
  • Process Automation & Data Analysis: identify opportunities for automation and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Analyze data to enhance settlement performance and support decision-making.
  • Maintain standard procedures (SOPs) and effective controls.
  • Records & Data Management: maintain high standards in data quality, privacy, and security across all settlement activities.
  • Comply with Shell Policies and Rules and ensure 100% completion of mandatory training.

Job requirements

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the Brazil on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of experience in the Power or Gas sectors
  • Familiarity with Brazilian energy market regulations and settlement practices
  • Strong commitment to Shell’s values and continuous improvement culture
  • Advanced analytical and solving problem skills, with experience in data visualization and proficiency using Excel, Power BI, Power automate and similar tools
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data management
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and teamwork mindset
  • Learner mindset, adaptability to constant changes and ability to prioritize
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese, Spanish is an advantage
  • Position based in São Paulo-SP
