This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.

As a Merchant, you will be responsible for managing the grains program in Egypt, trading corn and wheat. This role is highly dynamic — you will handle vessel and delivery coordination, oversee documentation and pricing processes, and work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of trades, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Study the international and local market and identify market trends.
  • Forecast demand while analyzing consumption patterns.
  • Utilize Cargill infrastructure storage capacity in Dekhaila Port.
  • Monitor stock availability at the port and update internal systems with daily transactions.
  • Serve customers with market insights and develop strong relationships.
  • Sell corn and wheat in USD and EGP according to the company’s game plan.
  • Price premium contracts on the Chicago Board of Trade.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to follow up on vessel status and with the accounting team to monitor customer payments.
  • Calculate provisional pricing for customers based on global benchmarks.
  • Manage premium contract pricing and lead contract creation and revision based on origin-specific terms.
  • Manage the P&L of the company in coordination with global Cargill teams.
  • Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in trading, investment banking, securities, or institutional capital markets. Exposure to commodity markets is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in MS Office and internal systems.
  • Good knowledge of commodity markets and pricing principles.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Availability outside regular hours is essential to support operational efficiency.
